Copper Project

Copper project management software was the brainchild of our founder and CEO Ben Prendergast. For 15 years we designed, developed, and marketed the software used by organizations like NASA, Pixar, and the US Navy.

What happened?

Our previous studio was experiencing a huge growth spurt, and in order to manage this we built a project management software tool. In three short years it took over our studio.

We had just taken on Pioneer Japan as a new client, and had promised them a streamlined process (the same process we use to this day). As part of this we advertised the tool on our website as part of our process.

But after a few weeks a strange thing happened. We were noticing that people started enquiring not about our design services, but about about purchasing our project management tool to use for their own business. By the end of 2003 we had engaged NASA, Penn State University, and Federation Square to use the product and were away!

Copper Project was the leading project management application available. And while competitors would come and go, it was sold to a Texan company in 2015 and continues to thrive.

We’re proud of this legacy, and the continued success of the product with its new owners, but for 12 years we designed, built, and marketed five distinct versions of the product. From server-based licenses, through to a full Software-as-a-service (Saas) platform, the product remains one of our most successful ventures.

These days we’ve returned to our roots, however we are still engaged to produce software on behalf of our clients. So whether you are looking to build a completely new product, improve an existing one, market your digital or bricks and mortar product  online, then we can help.
